Result - Liphook and Ripsley C.C.

Sun May 31st Grannies 202 - 5 Liphook 204 - 6 40 over game

Match report

After a fairly hectic time getting a side together (last man at 11.15 am sunday) we met at the Links pub in Liphook to ensure that final preparations were put into effect.

It certainly worked with Peter Pitt - Brown (63) and Billy Maisey (31) giving us a good start. Once Billy was out a new name to the club Jack Hannam came in and with Peter took the score to 150. Wickets fell in the closing overs but Jack Smart (17*) and the skipper (20*)adding lusty blows at the end ensured a competitive score.

Nick Pitt Brown and Billy Maisey opened the bowling and bowled tidily with the first wicket falling in the thirties. There followed the partnership that secured the match putting on about 130 The partnership was ended with both batsmen falling within three balls the second of the skipper to an absolute beauty in the slips by Robert Bogdan. The remaining batsmen got to the required score with a over to go.

Enjoyable game in perfect weather and very good pitch in a beautiful setting.
