Match report
Great effort by GCC in the sunshine of Oxford Downs today. Put in, Lucas Hancock (26) and Sam White (41) put on 69 for the first wicket very elegantly. James Campbell then hammered 29, Peter S-W 23, before on the 93rd anniversary of their grandfather's birth (and founding member), Sam Pougatch (53) and Harry Felgate (25)thoroughly entertained their watching fans with a breezy stand of 58. 236/9 declared was a very fair total and 2 wickets in the first over from Billy Stephens had us all dreaming - James Campbell with a screamer of a catch at cover. Rupert Henson weighed in with a wicket, a fantastic catch at deep midwicket from Sam Pougatch but thereafter their big tall lefthander fancied the pitch somewhat and they got home by 6 wickets with 5 overs to spare. A great day out nonetheless. We all enjoyed Rufus's big six and thank you to everyone who came and played.
