Result - Lord Carnarvon's XI

Sun Jun 8th Grannies win by 103 runs

Match report

There is never a problem getting a team for Highclere what with the most sumptuous lunch and decadent tea. A young Grannies team batted first, Matt White making a run a ball 51 to go with his 99 earlier in the season. Thereafter 5 players reached 20 as we posted a very respectable 211 all out. Charlie Cooke hammered 27 batting at no 11 and was soon in the wickets ending with 4-5 , the skipper tried (and failed) to give his Lordship one off the mark and Rufus Hall ended the opening bat’s 39 ball vigil LBW - for nought. As ever we welcomed Max Felgate off the plane from Saigon and he responded with 20 and a wicket, the Grannies home by 103 runs. Another enjoyable day in the lee of Downtown Abbey
