Match report
Last year against the Earl’s XI, we were greeted with a crack squad of London league players so the chairman came well equipped with a suitable team and elected to field first. At the end of the first over they were 0/2, Matt Withers with both, and the Treasurer’s butter fingers meant it wasn’t 0/3. The Earl”s XI never recovered. The Granny catching was outstanding and Max Felgate, fresh from his home in Saigon, weighed in with 2 overs, 2 maidens, 3 for none. Surely the best figures ever from a Vietnam-based Granny. 73 all out wasn’t ever going to trouble us and Sam Pougatch hammered his way to 44 not out off 36 balls to make sure we could over indulge at tea without worrying about things. A Lovely spot and next year we will try and get a better balanced game!
