A 35 over game was decided by the 2 captains, retiring at 50 and a maximum of 6 overs per bowler.
The Grannies, all be it only 1 officially, took to the field having won the toss.
Spin was generally the order of the day, along with the dropping of catches, too many to remember how many.
So Marden started with a 50 run opening partnership off 9 overs.
But by stopping the 4's and keeping it tight, pressure mounted and Marden continued to give us catching practice, but found we held on to them and wickets started to fall regularly.
The stand out being Alex Taylor with 4 wickets from 4 overs for 18 runs and Muhammad Ahmad taking a sharp catch in close and 5 catches held in all.
Marden were all out for 158 off 32.2 overs.
The Grannies did not get off to the best start losing a wicket in the 2nd over, but other than that everyone chipped in getting to double figures.
This, along with a good 50 plus partnership between Muhammad and Tom Morgan, allowed the extra's column to build during the innings.
Muhammad retiring on 51 and extra's ending up being the next best score of 40.
So the run chase was completed after 27.3 overs and 5 wickets down, a convincing victory.
