Match report
Not a vintage day for the Grannies. The weather closed in early and the game was played in constant drizzle / rain. The skippers agreed to a T20 format which on any other day would have been Tea for 20 & then home before the next downpour.
The Girffin batted first and took a real shine to a bowling attack depleted by injuries. Henson & Amato bowled well while Siebert (M) acquired a couple of wickets (2-34). Unfortunately for the most part the opposition made hay and finished on a more than useful 175-4.
The Grannies too little time in showing the home team how not to play in these grim, damp conditions losing 2 of the top 4 for no runs. Mark de St Croix & Dave Amato both applied themselves well but after they both fell for 25, the rest of the innings rather petered out as the Grannies were all out for 86.
I'd like to say cricket was the winner but it was all really rather grim.
