Match report
Before the game started Bob ruled himself out of the game saving himself for Kent soon to play in the National Counties Over 70s Cup Final.
Stanners therefore took over and won the toss and inserted the Royal Household on a bit of a green top.
Billy Maisey opened the bowling and second ball the ball fizzed to second slip where Mike Hobiss took a blinding catch. Billy and Sam Packer proceeded to bowl a penetrating first spell with Billy taking another two wickets.
With the change of bowling Mike Hobbiss and John Gibbons maintained the pressure with Mike taking one and John 3 wickets including a great catch at deep long on for Billy.
Shiv Haria-Shah bowled very well without luck and a curates egg of a spell from Quentin Newcomb with a wicket in his first over and then bowling two beamers which led to Stanners's contribution on a single ball!! The tail was wrapped up by Martin Stringer taking two wickets
After tea Quinton and Joe Huxley opened the batting with Joe hitting 3 boundaries in his first over. Their partnership was for thirty next in, Sam Packer, was a bit unlucky to be given out caught behind. Hugo Llewelyn scored a lusty 36 and John G and Mike H both contributed before Billy Maisey and Kit Schutzer-Weissmann finished the game as though they had a train to catch.
A thoroughly enjoyable game and as ever a superb tea.
