Match report
Grannies - 203 / 3
Dusters - 153 / 9
The Grannies were treated to a cracking evening at Dulwich courtesy of The Dusters; high summer met outstanding hospitality. In a memorable week for cricket, of Trent Bridge heroics and broken ODI records, the Grannies scorched the surface with 'Baz-Ball' style batting to match. Having got off to a 'flyer' on an excellent pitch, the middle order maintained a ten-an-over rate, combining dynamic running and crisp hitting. Each partnership built on the last; stroke play was on show to the end, while the lightening-quick outfield did the rest.
There was no room for complacency at the half-way point. With a 7:3 field set, the opening combination of seam-up and leg-spin claimed two victims. Shadows lengthened, catches were held, and stumps were thrown down in a fielding display that would have pleased even the most dour of captains. Everyone turned their arm over and wickets fell routinely. Cold beers and burgers followed.
Well played all.
