Match report
We lost the toss and Goodwood chose to bat. They got off to a fast start and it was not until Darren Almeida and Alex Stone came on that we were able to slow them down and take a couple of wickets. Goodwood continued to score well and it was unlucky that a close run out decision, when their captain was on 50, went against us as he went on to 100 and held the second half of their innings together. Justin Rose was the pick of the Grannies bowlers with 2-36 from 7 overs.
We started off in pursuit and were unlucky to lose Hugo Freeman early but Matt Gullick smashed an aggressive 40 and then Felix Tritton overcame the effects of a drive from Newcastle to score an excellent 92. Wickets unfortunately fell regularly at the other end and we were all out off the last ball.
As ever an excellent location and great tea. Always a joy to play at Goodwood.
