Match report
Toughish day under the sun at Worcester. They remain gents and put us in but despite rotating their strike bowlers we were undercooked and had to spend too much time consolidating rather than accelerating; declaration came at 172 / 8 with an unbeaten 41 from J Dare. All the bowlers threw themselves at the task but the fielders tended to throw themselves in the wrong direction especially when a catch was offered. Aforementioned J Dare channeled his inner Trueman to grumpily clean up the wickets of one batsman and finished as pick of the bowlers with 2-36 and whilst J Dare Sr, Thomas and Llewelyn chipped in with wickets, by the time their No 8 who walked with all the ferrous intent of a sexually frustrated blacksmith and hit the ball in similar vein, the game was done. Would be good to win here one day…but some fielding practice needed ahead of that most notably for the match manager.
