Match report
On an unusually bright April afternoon, the Grannies took to the field for a fantastic season's opening day at the HAC in London's Zone 1.
We elected to bat and Hector Don recovered from turning up a full 24 hours early to the fixture to score a very classy 132*. The day's on-field highlight as the Grannies reached 193/6 from 40.
Gordon Lee opened up the bowling very tidily (1-36 from 8 overs), followed by glove-stinging spell by new Granny Jamie Rutt. A little thin on economical bowling, the home side comfortably reached the total off 29 overs with 3 wickets down.
The sun continued to shine as beers in the Artillery Arms afterwards slid down very nicely. Thanks to everyone who played - a really good day!
