A mixed team of veteran Grannies and new young blood took on the Littlestone Championship course on a beautiful autumn day, if a tad chilly.
Three teams of four played foursomes:
Nigel Draffan and Nigel Creffield against Bob Percival and Jon Staniforth
Andrew Carr and Mike Fernie against Charlie Warner and Gary Withers
Tom Hoskyns and Tom Bell against James Caldwell and Jonathan Garforth.
Bob and Stanners just managed to beat the two Nigels with the final putt on the 18th, Charlie and Gary had a justified win over Mike and Andrew, also at the 18th and the two Toms won the day over James and Jonathan.
This was followed by a hearty lunch with much banter about the various individuals' golfing skills.
Everyone agreed that they would like to repeat the event so a date will be fixed for a similar time next year when it is hoped more Grannies will want to play on this excellent links course.
