Result - Liphook and Ripsley

Sun Aug 12th Liphook 196 Grannies 124

Match report

Liphook batted first and the Yeates brothers opened the bowling both taking a wicket each, caught by Jamie Richards, the Liphook Saturday captain borrowed for the day, two of the SIX he was took. Richards also bowled and guess what took a wicket and it was caught and bowled. The Skipper came on to take the only bowled wicket of the day, before Mike Fernie came on to wreck havoc taking four wickets two stumped by Draff (Chairman beware) and two caught by Richards, but more importantly the last three wickets were a HATRICK. Billy Maisey then took two wickets both caught on the boundary by Paul Knight and Richards to see the Liphook innings closed at 196.

We took tea with this quite gettable target and to start things went well an opening partnership of 60 was broken by a misunderstanding over a second run and Richards was run out. two quick wickets followed including Maisey (44). Paul Knight and Draff and then Draff and Harry Yeates tried to rectify the situation between other wickets falling but in effect the Grannies collapse had taken place and we were all out for 124. A sad end to a good days cricket but hopefully next year will be better.
