Sat May 26th Grannies win by 9 wickets

Match report

A great game. we lost the toss and were asked to field. They lost 3 wickets for 254 over 53 overs, Gibbs and Davies bowling well at the start followed by a great session from Thomas who picked up 2 quick wickets. Brennan E, West O and Gammell N all contributed important overs at a time when the Hurlingham needed to raise the run rate. We fielded well in the heat although perhaps dropped a few too many catches, I would like to put this down to early season bedding in.

Our batting performance was nearly flawless - we achieved the req runs within 30 overs, L Brennan getting an excellent 124 NO and was well supported by F Palmer who was caught glancing to midwicket on 60. Paul Amiss then held the crease for the rest of the innings as well as getting an elegant 50.

MOM has to be Larry for a good, concentrated and enjoyable 100 runs that kept us in a position that we never looked like losing.
