Result - Tarbarrow

Sat Aug 7th Won by 82 runs

Match report

After a superb barbecue put on by Robin Rogers and family, the Grannies batted first, on a showery day, and everyone who batted made double figures! It was good to see Michael Bluett (11)opening the batting. Scotty top scored with 44 ably assisted by Irving (28)and Knight(33*)among the other scorers. We made 189 for 5 of the 35 overs.

After a splendid tea, this is a fixture to be recommended for its cuisine, Tarbarrow batted and were in trouble almost immediately thanks to hostile bowling from Tom Gibbs (2 - 20)and Paul Knight (3 - 34)who removed the first five batsmen for 35 runs. Harry Yeates (2 - 17) was among the other wicket takers as a come back was staged by Tarbarrow, but with wickets falling at regular intervals they eventually succumbed before the rain to 107 all out. R Rogers (8*)
