Match report
On a lovely sunny day the Grannies lost the toss and were asked to field.
James Sibree got the first wicket, with a bad ball being hit straight to a fielder. Unfortunately having already got a bad back he broke down through an over and was not seen again until the last three balls of the Grannies innings.
Pete Kenny started the other end, but had no luck, which was the basic result for all the bowlers, especially Mike Bellhouse who bowled 8.3 overs for 23 runs.
Dan Pritchard and his 14 year old son, Rory bowled in tandem. Dan picking up two wickets for 28 runs off 9 overs.
Both Toby Gundry (two 5 over spells, 0 for 66) and Ed Gardiner-Hill (3.5 Overs, 2 for 24) had a bowl as well.
So the Grannies were set 206 to win, but with no one really getting going on a slow track, made slower by spinners bowling, we were never up with the required rate and ended up playing out for a draw.
James seeing off the last three balls to leave a score of 163 for 9.
The runs mainly came from Imraan Arbee 17, Dan 14, Ed 22, Adam Parkinson 15 and Mike 52.
An enjoyable day with everyone getting involved in the game.
Thanks to all for playing, David Sibree for umpiring and his wife, Emma for the tea.
